Extra Hitter Two Extra Players (EP) are allowed in all age divisions. Substitution for the (EP) is made the same way as a position player. Extra Defensive Player One defensive player only can be in the line up. Courtesy Runner A courtesy runner may be used for the pitcher and catcher at anytime. The courtesy runner cannot be in the batting line up. The same courtesy runner cannot run for the pitcher and catcher in the same inning. A courtesy runner cannot bat until he has played one inning of defense. Runs Ahead Rule In all ages there will be a 12 runs ahead rule after 3 complete innings, and a 10 runs ahead rule after 4 complete innings and a 8 runs ahead rule after 5 complete innings. Teams can only score 6 runs maximum in each of the first three innings. Game Tie Breakers During the pool play games, at the end of regulation time limit, if the score is tied, the game will end in a tie. During the single and double elimination championship rounds extra innings will be played until a winner is determined. Pool Tie Breakers At the end of pool play teams may have the same won/loss record. The following tie breakers will determine which team advances and in what order of finish. 1. Head to head competition 2. Fewest runs allowed in all games 3. Run Differential (Runs scored minus Runs allowed) 4. Coin Toss Game Times Game times for all ages will be 1 hour and 20 minutes. No new inning will be started with 5 minutes are less time to play. Championship games have no time limits. The tournament director can change these times if event warrants a change. Home Team In pool play the home team will be decided by a flip of a coin. In elimination play the home team will be decided by the highest seed. Max Runs First Three Innings In ages 8u to 12u the max amount of runs a team can score per inning is six. This rule doesn't apply to 14u games and above. Slide Rule A player must slide or avoid contact at any base when a play is occurring. Head first sliding is allowed. Player Age IF a players age is challenged his coach must produce the players birth certificate. If the player is found to be illegal then any games played with the player will be a forfeit. Awards First place will receive individual trophies. Second place will receive medals. Forfeit of Game Forfeits are frowned upon, but if one occurs then the forfeiting team will not only receive a loss but will not advance from pool play. If a forfeit occurs during elimination play then the forfeiting team will be placed last in the standings. A forfeit will be recorded as zero runs scored and one run per inning given up. Only the tournament director will determine if the forfeiting teams forfeit is warranted. Intentional Walk In any age a coach or pitcher must notify the plate umpire to put the batter on base.
